On comms

I like to discuss cloth pads, all aspects of cloth pads, but when I wrote this brief article about my thoughts on how we label cloth pads, I didn't expect people to so clearly miss the point. I don't think I was bashing cloth pads anywhere. I certainly wasn't looking for alternatives. I didn't try to suggest any one fabric be better than another. I wasn't talking about the problems of landfills or why reclaimed fabrics are no "better". All I wanted to talk about was the language we use concerning cloth pads.

Ah, maybe I ought to have discussed it in a linguistics comm instead. However, I wasn't sure how that community would have felt about the subject matter. So I took a chance on openly discussing language in [info]cloth_pads and clearly no one caught on. I fear if I tried to brooch the subject again it would turn into something completely uncontrollable and I certainly don't want that. :/
